Willie Gainer Obituary

Mr. Willie James “Bilbert” Gainer, affectionately known as “Disco Bilb” answered the call of his Master to receive his “Wings and Halo” in the early morning of January 11, 2025. He was born December 22,1948 to the late Mrs. Doreatha Lewis Gainer and the late Mr. Willie Allen Gainer. He received his education from the Columbia County Public School System.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Willette Janese “Pi” Gainer Cray, two sisters Ruby Lee Gainer Powell and Juanita Gainer Madison, and three brothers, Clarence Gainer, Nathaniel Gainer, and Michael Currington. Also preceding him in death were two aunts and a nephew.

He was employed with Boone’s Trucking and other trucking companies for many years. He had a love for driving. He didn’t mind teaching anyone who was willing to learn how to drive. His other passion was racing cars. You couldn’t tell him that he wasn’t the “The King of Watertown.” If he wasn’t driving or racing, he would be found in his yard doing yard work or cleaning his prize winning cars. Sometimes he would be found in the yard riding his great grands on his golf cart. Mr. Gainer was a very quiet  and who didn’t say much and stayed to himself.
