Timothy Duncan, Jr. Obituary

Timothy Duncan, Jr., born September 18, 1944, in Wellborn, Florida, to the late O.C. and Virginia Duncan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He spent his early years on his grandparents’ farm, Sam and Rosa Allen, before moving with his parents to New York City. Seeking new experiences, he later moved to Miami, Florida, to live with an uncle and attend Northwestern High School. After graduation, he pursued higher education through extension courses at New York University (NYU).

A lifelong reader with a passion for the world, Tim joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Korea, where he embraced the culture and served in combat battalions. Tim gained a deep understanding of military life and the realities of war. He served honorably for eight years.

In 1977, he married Maxine Grant in Nevada, and they had one son, Malik Duncan. After their marriage ended, he married Lillian Robinson. Tim and Lillian shared a lifetime together until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Steven Duncan and Robert Duncan.

Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Lillian; sons Malik Duncan (Tara) and Hamilton Duncan of Denver, Colorado; daughter Lori May (James) of Jacksonville, Florida; bonus son Maurice Robinson, Sr. (Deidre) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sisters Jeanette Neely of Pennsylvania and Marilyn Duncan of New York, New York; brother James Madison of Lake City, Florida; aunt Berneva Brutan of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; grandchildren Austin, Evan, Taneishia, Tiffany, Ebony, Shantell, Maurice Jr., and Zaylee; great-grandchildren Aniah, Zeyon, Zymire, Zaquan, Nazz, Nia, and Maurice Robinson III; great-great-grandchild Zirmere; nieces Honesha, Rhonda, and Zaquan; grandnephew Nathaniel; grandniece Samara; cousins Barbara Haynes, Patricia King, Sandra Allen, Gwen Allen of Miami, Florida, and Woodrow Allen of Suffolk, Virginia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
