Sharlene Delois Pierce Davis

Ms. Sharlene Delois Pierce Davis was born on July 22, 1941 in Lake City, Florida (Columbia County) to the late Charles Thomas Pierce and Fannie Mae Pinder Robinson.

At the tender age of twelve (12), Sharlene was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church in Plant City, FL. She developed a deep and abiding faith in God as a member for many years at Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church, Plant City, Florida. Once she relocated to Lake City she became a devoted member of New Mt. Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church for the remainder of her lifetime.

Sharlene was educated in the Hillsborough County School System and a graduate of Carver High School in Tampa, Florida. She continued her education at the Suwannee River College in Madison, Florida where she receive her Associate of Arts Degree. She loved working in her yard, shopping, dining out, enjoyed playing Bingo, and taking care of the sick.

Sharlene had a heart for her community. She was an active member of the Elk Lodge #0893/Temple #1238, Lake City, Florida. She served faithfully for 25 years as a member of the American Legion Post #322 of Lake City, FL. She was a member of the Daughters of I. B. P. O. E. and the Lay Organization of Mt. Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Sharlene is preceded in death by her parents: Charles Thomas Pierce and Fannie Mae Pinder Robinson; her beloved husband Early Lee (EL) Davis; her brother Edward Henry Lewis; aunts Ella Mae Frazier, Linnie Bea Hale, Loretha & Eunice.

She was employed with the State of Florida at the Columbia County Extension Office as a Social Worker. She was a Program Assistant for fifteen (15) years. She also was employed with North Central Florida / MIC Outreach Project -University of Florida, Gainesville, FL.

Sharlene leaves to cherish her memory her children: Tyrone Browder, Charles Arline Lewis, Arnett Frazier Pierce, Sheila Renee Pierce, Patrick Bernard Pierce, and Shamar Davis; her brothers Thomas Jerome Lewis (Ida); John L. Lewis (Johnnie); her aunts: Jessie, Brenda, Gwen & Clementine; her eleven (11) Beloved Grandchildren, a host of Precious Great Grandchildren; Nine (9) Adored Nieces and Nephews.
