James Edward Gaddis, Sr. was born on May 2, 1947, in Summerall, MS, to the late Winston Red Gaddis and Roena Pittman Gaddis. On Friday, October 10, 2025, our Heavenly Father called him home to rest in the arms of Jesus.
He later moved to Lake City, Florida, where he married his beloved wife, D’Ester Gaddis, in 1972. During this time, James raised his family and built a successful career as a self-employed businessman in the lumber industry until his retirement. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and one of the kindest souls to ever grace this earth — a gentle and giving man whose heart touched everyone he met.
James was preceded in death by his son, Roger Michael Gaddis.
James leaves to celebrate precious and cherished memories his devoted wife of fifty-three (53) years Mrs. D'Ester Gaddis; two son: James Edward Gaddis, Jr. and Brient Red Gaddis; daughters: Verneka Watson (Stanley Stephens), and Hope Lenore Gaddis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. of all who knew him.
