Some people leave footprints behind; others leave pathways that guide generations. Renee is one of those extraordinary souls. Her life was a shining example of love, resilience, kindness, and faith. Born on August 6, 1969, in Lake City, Florida, to Ms. Cora Lee Jackson and Mr. Ellie Lee Cooper, Reno embraced every chapter of her journey with strength and grace. She touched countless lives with her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her legacy is not measured by the years she lived, but by the lives she touched and the love she left behind.
On June 1, 2026, we beloved mother gained her wings, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. While our hearts are broken by her absence, we are forever grateful for the gift of her life. She was more than a mother. She was a protector, a teacher, a confidante, and the heart of the family. Her love was fierce, her wisdom was endless, and her presence could turn the darkest days into brighter days. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, loved, and noticed. Whether she was on the fish creek, sharing stories, offering advice, preparing meals filled with love, or simply opening her arms for a hug, she gave selflessly and loved deeply. Those who knew her will remember her for her beautiful spirit, her outrageous fishing trips, her strength through life’s challenges, her infectious smile, and the way she never gave up and motivated the people she loved and cared about. She met no strangers.
Renee was preceded in death by her stepfather, Frank Jackson and cousin Quinten Smith. She leaves to cherish her memories that will last forever—her daughter, Shantay Gaskins (Adrian); sons, Curtis Ruise Jr. (Stephanie) and Marquis Ruise (Amber); bonus children, Amilia Alexander and Octavious Thompson; brothers, Joe Jones (Joan), Daniel Jones (Arizona), Terry Cooper (Shanette), and Eddie Cooper (Rita); sisters, Shirley Jones, Veronica Cooper, Talanganette ‘Tan’ Jones, and Alnesia Jackson; 16 grandchildren; special fishing partner, Mrs. Lilly Mae Perry; bonus sisters, Joanne Jones and Mary Tolbert; hosts of other sorrowing nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
