Herman H. Holland departed this “Earthly Realm” on February 10, 2025, at Haven Hospice, Lake City, Florida. He was born August 24, 1937, in Tampa, Florida, to the late David (Dora Brooks) Holland, Sr. Herman was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Herman was a truck driver for over 50 years. During those 50 years of being a truck driver, his started his own business called Holland Trucking. Everyone who knew him learned his famous words: “Thank God for Jesus” & “For Show, For Show”. He joined Old Days Springs Missionary Baptist Church where started his journey as a Deacon. Later in life he joined Falling Creek Missionary Baptist Church and as time passed, he became the Senior Deacon. He was educated in the Columbia County School System. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lorretta Hooper; his son, Rufus Baker; and siblings: Claude Elliott Holland, David Holland, Jr., Flora Mae Holland, Juanita PowellBowman, and Minnie Lee Major. His memories will be cherished by his loving wife, Delois Holland; daughters: Gloria (George) Kelsey of Weber, FL; Jessica (Randy Will) Holland of Jacksonville, FL; Sharon White of Ocala, FL; Pearl (Kenneth) Jones of Lake City, FL; Melissa (Grechil) Carter of Gainesville, FL; and Tabitha Rentz of Lake City, FL; sister-in-law: Voncile Miller of Lake City, FL; brothers-in-law: Jonathan (Essie) Griffin and Ervin Fleming, both of Lake City, FL, and James Bryant, of Daytona Beach, FL: godson, Mark Lewis of Lake City, FL, and host of loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Herman H. Holland will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, 5pm-7pm at Cooper Chapel, 251 NE Washington, Lake City, Florida 32055. Celebration of Life for Mr. Herman H. Holland will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, 11:00am at Falling Creek Baptist Church, 343 Testament Court, Lake City, Florida 32055. Words of Comfort by Pastor Carlton Jones. Earthly Resting Place will be at Garden of Rest Cemetery, 993 NW Lake Jeffery Road, Lake City, Florida 32055.
