Mrs. Edna Mae Fennell was a woman whose love, kindness, and generosity touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. To know Edna was truly to love her. She carried a beautiful smile wherever she went and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was a warm meal, a refreshing drink, comforting words, or even her last few cents, giving came naturally to her, and she never expected anything in return.
Edna Mae Fennell was born on August 7, 1935, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Allen. Her earthly journey peacefully came to an end on May 11, 2026, in Lake City, Florida.
In 1950, Edna met the love of her life, the late Joseph Fennell. Their union was blessed with three children, and together they built a life centered around faith, love, family, and service to others.
Mrs. Fennell was deeply devoted to her church and community. She faithfully served for many years as a Stewardess at her beloved home church, Union AME Church. She loved her church family, cherished her pastor, and remained committed to serving God and others throughout her life. Her compassionate spirit and servant’s heart made a lasting impact on countless lives.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Fennell; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Allen; sisters, Julia Mae Hayes, Corrine Mickler, Grace Allen, Margerie Allen, and Ella Mae Allen; brothers, Roy Allen and Edward Allen; children, Maxine Fennell and Ricky Fennell, and grandchildren, Brandy Fennell and Mazie Fennell.
Left to cherish her precious memories are her children, Tracy (Samantha) Fennell and James Parnell; her sister, Julia Mae Paige; her grandchildren, Dwight Fennell, Tierra Fennell, Tantenniya Fennell, Traonia Fennell, Alesha Fennell, and Ricky Fennell, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Keishara (Alex) Williams, Tradarious Fennell, Shyteria McIntosh, Bennie Thomas, Jari Thomas, KaTalenni Fennell, and Dakota Fennell; one great-great-grandchild, Manoah Lewis; sister-in-love, Betty (David) Broom; godchildren, Clayton Thomas and Jimmie Brown; one special nephew, Dwayne Broom; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Edna Mae Fennell lived a life full of love, faith, compassion, and service. Her beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
