Eddie Brown, Sr. Obituary

Eddie James Brown, Sr. was born on September 27, 1934, in Lake City, Florida, to the late Clarence Brown, Sr. and Mary Lou Brown.

Eddie spent many years working in the farming business alongside several of his siblings, providing produce to various markets, stores, and individual customers. In 1957, he was united in marriage to Ruby Lee Nesbitt, and from this union, two children were born.

In the late 1990s, Eddie was baptized and became a devoted attendee of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall. He cherished the spiritual fellowship, along with his faith in Jehovah God and Jesus Christ. Eddie enjoyed simple pleasures, including fishing and shopping at Tractor Supply Store for feed and other necessities. He also treasured the many joyful moments spent enjoying breakfast with family members and friends.

Eddie found comfort and hope in the scriptures, particularly Revelation 21:4: “And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Eddie was one of nine children. He was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Brown, Jr.; his daughter, Teresa Ilunga; and eight siblings: Karey Phillip Brown, Ethel Mae Williams, Clarence Brown, Jr., Ruby Lee Gordon, James “Junior” Brown, Ralph Brown, Alberta Pipkins, and Gertrude Martin.

Eddie leaves to cherish loving memories: two daughters, Emmalene Young of Gainesville, Florida, and Kim Brown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; three grandsons, Dieudonne Ilunga of Atlanta, Georgia, Stephane Ilunga of Lake City, Florida, and Lewis Young of St. Petersburg, Florida; three granddaughters, Jamesha Brown of Broward County, Florida, Venetra Reed of Gainesville, Florida, and Yuki S. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one great-grandchild, Jayde Brown of Broward County, Florida; three nieces, Delores Adams (Eugene), Patricia Perry (Nathan), and Linda Roberson of Seattle, Washington; one nephew, Alfred Gordon of Opa-locka, Florida; a cherished friend Geraldine Scott; and a host of other relatives and friends.
