Alma Marie Dix, 69, born October 17, 1956, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Alma was born in Lake City, Florida, to the late Mary Lee Dix and James Dix, Sr.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Dix.
Alma attended Columbia High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1974. She later continued her education at Florida Gateway College, formerly known as Lake City Community College. Throughout her life, Alma was dedicated to serving others. She was employed at Division Hospital, Vista Specialty Hospital, retiring from Tacachale APD Facility and Lake Butler Reception and Medical Center, where she worked faithfully and compassionately.
A devoted and active member of Monteocha New Life Christian, Brooker, FL, Alma worshiped and served with unwavering dedication on the Emergency Management Auxiliary and Outreach Street Ministry. She was passionate about spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone she encountered. If you did not know the Lord, Alma made sure to introduce you. She authored a brief guide entitled “Keys to the Kingdom,” designed to direct readers to the Word of God and encourage salvation. It was her heartfelt desire that all would be saved and inherit the Kingdom.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one beloved sister, Ruth (Terry) Harrell of Lake City, Florida; three brothers, Charlie (Marion) Jackson of Madison, Florida, Johnny L. Dix, and James Dix, Jr., both of Lake City, Florida; one sister-in-law, Florine J. Dix of Lake City, Florida; three nieces; three nephews; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other sorrowing relatives and dear friends.
Alma will be remembered for her quiet strength, her deep love for her family, and her lifelong commitment to caring for others and sharing her faith. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love, witness, and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
